On 8 Apr 09 after woken up from my nap at around 6 plus, I wanted to go washroom and realised that I couldn't get out of the bed without feeling extremely painful around my pubic area. I couldn't part my legs and have to inch myself to the washroom. It took me 10 mins just to get to the washroom. I can't move even when lying down!
That's when I felt something is very wrong. It's nothing like what normal pregnant women felt - the bay's weight pressuring some nerves. I started surfing the web and found that I might have SPD - abnormal separation of pelvic bones after ruling out all other possibilities. So I waited until my hubby came home and suddenly my emotion overflew while relating the incident to him. I felt soooo miserable that this has to happen to me.
After dinner, a GP neighbour suggested I admit to A&E immediately after accessing my condition. And so I was admitted and did a number of test: blood & urine. Everything is fine. I told them my suspicion but the MO can't make decision until an O&G sees me. It was late nite n I was not in critical stage. So the O&G came only the next morning. I described my condition and she prescribed a girdle/binder and a physiotherapist to assist me and teach me how to move properly.
Now I can walk and move around but like a robot and still with pain but bearable. My shoulder and hip position must be the same, even in my sleep! Later in the evening, the O&G assessed me again to ensure if the girdle helps and checked my baby. I'm glad that baby is perfectly well. And I was told I will probably get better after delivery. That's like 3 more months to go. Since I'm able to move on my own already, I was permitted to discharge.
So, I'm on MC now for 14 days then I'll have to go back for review. Hopefully I'll be better by then.
