2 Feb 09.... that's the day we went for a thorough checkup.
My gynae has showed us our little one's limbs, spinal cord development and some others I 've forgotten.. :P.. but the most important part is to ensure a visible nose bridge bone (or sth like that). He has mentioned to us that a lack of this is usually a sign of Down. I was pretty worried and has been praying very hard for it to be visible. There are other techniques for this test as well, ie amniotic fluid test but I thought ultrasound is good enough. Unless we need further clarification.
It's truely a blessing to finally see that "bridge". It was very clear indeed. However, when the gynae scan for gender, I really couldn't see anything.. :(

My gynae exclaimed with a smile,"It's a boy! Look!" And he made a circular motion on the screen. But I can't makeup whatever was in the screen, neither can my hubby. Then he tried shifting the scanning position but could not get the image anymore coz my dear little babe was blocking it already! Well then, we shall see it again next round, I thought..
So, we never did had a sonogram that shows his gender during that visit. But that was the 1st time we knew of our baby's weight: 252g.. and I've put on 3 kg since my 1st visit.. Nope, not gonna tell how much I weigh now.. hahaaa.!

Lengleng, reading your postings reminded me of my past experience with my 2 boys. Hope you enjoy the pregnancy as I did. It brings you to a completely new phase in life. And I am very sure you would agree with me that it's really great and blessed to be a mother. Take care!
